Understanding Electrical Circuits: Series, Parallel, and Power
Equivalent Circuit
To perform the electrical calculations of a circuit with several resistors, we calculate the value of a single resistor, equivalent to the association of the resistors in the circuit. The circuit formed with the equivalent resistors is called an equivalent circuit. We can obtain three things from this circuit:
- The currents flowing through the circuit
- The potential drops across the components
- The dissipated power and the delivered power
Series Circuit
In a series circuit (Figure 1),

What is Pattern Recognition?
Pattern recognition (PR) is a process of recognizing patterns in data. The different stages of pattern recognition are:
- Preprocessing: The input data is preprocessed to remove noise and irrelevant information and to normalize it.
- Feature extraction: The relevant features are extracted from the preprocessed data. This step is crucial, as the quality of the features extracted directly impacts the algorithm’s performance.
- Feature selection: A subset of the extracted features
Cellular Respiration: Krebs Cycle and Oxidative Phosphorylation
Krebs Cycle
Adolf Krebs discovered a series of oxidation-reduction reactions known as the Krebs Cycle. The cycle occurs in the mitochondrial matrix in eukaryotic cells, comprising a set of reactions that oxidize acetyl-coenzyme A to CO2. The molecules NAD+ and FAD collect the electrons and are reduced to NADH and FADH2. These electrons will be transferred to an electron transport chain, regenerating NAD+ and FAD to continue the Krebs Cycle.
Stages of the Krebs Cycle
- Acetyl-coenzyme A binds to oxaloacetate

Read MoreEnglish Phonological System: Sounds, Stress, Intonation
The present essay aims to study the English phonological system. In order to do so, the topic will be divided into five different parts. The first part will deal with the distinction between phonetics and phonology. The second part will describe the segmental and suprasegmental features. Next, I will introduce the importance of a model of pronunciation. Then, I will focus on how to teach and learn pronunciation. Finally, some problems for Spanish speakers will be presented. To conclude, I will compile

Epic Poetry in Medieval Spain
Epics are literary works that narrate heroic deeds. They teach and exhibit the virtues that a people or group held as role models during the Middle Ages. In the 11th and 12th centuries, minstrels recited them orally due to widespread illiteracy. Epics often exceeded 4,000 verses. The songs were grouped in variable runs. Their features include:
- Irregular Verses: Typically between 14 and 16 syllables, divided into two hemistiches.
- Assonance and Rhyme: Employing assonant
Pre-Socratic to Kant: Key Philosophers & Ideas
Pre-Socratic Philosophers
Philosophy comes from the Greek words “philo” (love) and “sophia” (wisdom). The first recorded use was by Pythagoras in the 6th century BC. The first philosophers were from Miletus: Thales, Anaximander, and Anaximenes. They searched for the natural beginning of things (arche).
- Thales believed the arche was water and that all things were full of gods (hylozoism).
- Anaximenes believed the arche was air.
- Anaximander based the arche on the apeiron (the unlimited or indefinite).

What is a Project?
General Definition: A project is a design or purpose, a thought-out plan to achieve something.
Technical Definition: A project is a set of documents, calculations, and drawings that provide a comprehensive idea of what needs to be done and the estimated cost of a specific endeavor.
Project Stages
- Inception: This stage involves conceptualization, defining the project’s value proposition, assessing opportunity costs, and determining pre-feasibility.
- Execution: This stage encompasses
La Celestina and Cantar de Mio Cid: Spanish Literature
The Celestina
Argument
The Celestina tells of the love affair between Calisto and Melibea. Calisto falls in love with Melibea by chance, but she initially rejects him. Sempronio, Calisto’s servant, suggests seeking assistance from Celestina, a procuress, to help him win Melibea’s love. In gratitude, Calisto gives Celestina a gold chain. Celestina is later killed by Calisto’s servants over a dispute about sharing the reward. One night, when Calisto goes to visit Melibea, he falls down the stairs and

Totalitarianism is not only more radical but also different from other known forms of political oppression since it has created completely new institutions and destroyed all social traditions of the countries in which it came to power. Beyond its ideological form, both in the Stalinist and Hitler forms, it has transformed classes into masses, has replaced the party system with a new mass movement, transferred the center of army power to the police, and pursued a foreign policy openly directed to
