Employer: Good morning, my name is Ana and I am the Director Manager of Zooco. As you know, this company, based in architecture and design, is mostly dedicated to creating peaceful environments for big companies like, for example, a restaurant or an office. To start the interview, I would like to know a little about you.

Applicant’s Profile & Qualifications

Applicant: Hello, my name is Zaira and I am 20 years old. Although I am now living in Madrid, I have lived for 5 years in Monaco, where I studied Architecture. Apart from Spanish (my maternal language) and English, I am also fluent in French. It is also worth mentioning that I have a double degree in Interior Design.

Employer: Good, in this company we take into account the knowledge of each employee about interior design, since it’s one of the most important things.

Employer: But what we also want to know is what made you apply for this position?

Applicant: The reason why I have applied to this position is because it aligns with my interests and qualifications. It includes architecture, which I have studied, as well as interior design, in which I have developed skills through a double degree.

Employer: Now, do you prefer working alone or in groups?

Applicant: I personally prefer working in groups since I believe that it is the best way to share ideas and it allows you to hear the opinions of others about your work so you can improve it.

Architecture & Interior Design Expertise

Employer: And what special aspects of your education or training have prepared you for this job?

Applicant: In my career in architecture, I have done a lot of practical work that has helped me to acquire knowledge to design things like structures and urban places. My double degree in interior design has prepared me to be able to create a place just like the customer wants.

Employer: Of course, knowing what the customer wants is a very important aspect.

Public Speaking Confidence

Employer: But are you used to speaking in public? Would you consider that you handle yourself well?

Applicant: In my career, I used to do public speaking, so I’m quite used to it. That’s why I don’t get nervous anymore and I usually do well. The last time I made a presentation was about six months ago.

Key Influences on Self-Development

Employer: Now we are going to change a little bit the questions and make them more personal. What would you consider has been the most important event or person in your personal development?

Applicant: I believe that the fact that my parents have studied architecture has encouraged me to do the same, to be just like them. So yes, I would say that my parents were a really important factor for me and have also helped me to develop myself.

Employer: Good, now a little more difficult. If you could choose an animal, what animal would you be?

Applicant: I would choose to be a dolphin since they are pretty intelligent and communicative, which I think represents me.

Applicant: Food, water, and a boat to come back when I get bored or to take something.
