Understanding Your LCD Display: A Comprehensive Guide

1.4 LCD DISPLAY

My screen is designed to provide maximum clarity and ease to the user. It is divided into several zones or areas.

• The outer circle delimits the contour of the LCD screen. The peripheral segments are on the outer circumference.

• A barometric trend indicator provides a reference for predicting forecast conditions.

• Field 1 displays values as numbers or as text in a working demo or secondary mode in which the user is located.

• Field 2 displays large numbers and/or units of measure related to the working demo.

• A mode indicator bar shows the main computer functions (a triangular arrowhead immediately below the bar indicates the mode the user is currently viewing).

• Field 3 displays numbers and/or text.

1.5 MEASUREMENTS AND UNITS

The computer has two systems of measurement: metric or British.

Metric Measurement Units

British Measurement Units

11. After displaying the desired unit, press the button [Mode] to accept the changes. Click the button [Mode] again to return to the main time mode. The selection of measurement units is complete.

1.6 PRESSURE SENSOR CALIBRATION

This is a factory-set calibration. If in this mode, we strongly suggest you exit by pressing the [Mode] adjustment button. Adjusting this calibration will adversely affect barometric and altitude adjustments on the computer.

In this setting, you will see the “SNR” (sensor) marker in Field 1. Do not press the [+] or [-] button to adjust the pressure. You should leave this setting by pressing the button [Select] to return to the “UNI” configuration mode or by pressing the [Mode] button to return to the main mode.

If the pressure calibration adjustment has been altered by mistake, please contact our Product Support department.

1.7 CONSERVATION AND MAINTENANCE

Perform solely the detailed procedures outlined in this manual. Do not perform any other service operation on the computer or try to open the casing and remove the buttons or the crown.

Protect your computer from shock, extreme temperatures, or prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. While not in use, the computer must be kept in a clean and dry room environment.

You can clean your computer with a slightly moistened cloth (warm water). Apply a mild soap solution to remove persistent stains or marks.

Avoid exposing the computer to aggressive chemical substances such as gasoline, cleaning solvents, acetone, alcohol, adhesives, and paints, since they can cause property damage to the joints, the casing, and the finish of the unit.

Never attempt to dismantle the computer or perform technical service operations by yourself. Make certain that the area around the sensors (on the back of the instrument) is free of dirt and sand. Never insert any object into the computer sensor openings.

1.7.1 Battery Replacement

The computer uses a three-volt lithium battery type: CR 2430. The maximum expected lifespan is approximately 12 to 18 months.

The insufficient charge indicator is activated when the battery is from 5% to 15% of battery charge. When this occurs, we recommend changing the battery.

An extremely cold or hot climate will also trigger the insufficient battery charge warning indicator. Even if the indicator is activated, you may not have to replace the battery under these conditions. If the temperature exceeds 10°C and activates the insufficient charge indicator, the battery should be replaced.

Note: Intensive use of the electro backlight, altimeter, and compass significantly reduces battery life.

To replace the battery:

1. Turn the computer to display the back face.

2. Insert a coin into the coin slot located on the cover of the battery compartment.

3. Turn the coin counterclockwise to the opening position marked on the back of the housing.

4. Remove the cover of the battery compartment.

5. Remove the old battery from the compartment and be sure that the circuit board and all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from damage. Do not overstretch the circuit board.

6. Insert the new battery into the battery compartment (with the negative side facing down and the positive side up).

7. Make certain that the circuit board is well positioned to ensure the tightness of the computer. Reassemble the cover of the battery compartment on the back of the computer.

8. Re-insert a coin into the coin slot. Lastly:

9. Turn the coin clockwise until it reaches the closing position marked on the back of the housing.

Note: The replacement of the battery must be done with the utmost care to ensure that the computer remains waterproof. The operator is responsible for taking appropriate precautions to ensure that the computer remains water-resistant.

Once the battery replacement is complete, it is necessary to calibrate the magnetic sensor. Details of this procedure are found in Section XV Calibration of the Compass of this manual.
