Sant Fruitós Cycling Trip and Visit Plans
Marc: Cycling Update
Hi Marc,
I think I’ve officially become one of those people who can’t shut up about their bike.
But honestly, how could I not? Cycling has become such a big part of my life – it keeps me fit, clears my mind, and gives me a sense of purpose.
I’ve been riding for over three years now, and for the past two years I’ve been part of the Love Cycling Sant Fruitós Club. Being part of the group has really helped me stay consistent, push harder, and discover some amazing routes I’d never have found on my own.
Right now, I’m training pretty seriously – especially working on my Zone 3 endurance, which is perfect for long-distance rides. I’ve got three bikes now: a gravel, a mountain bike, and my latest love – a new road bike that climbs like a dream. Since I got it, I’ve been spending more and more time in the saddle, and honestly, I never get tired of it.
From June 14th to 15th, the club is riding all the way to Roses and back – around 300 km in two days. We’ll ride up, have dinner and sleep there, and return the next morning. It’s going to be a challenge, and I’ll need to pace myself to avoid hitting the wall, but I’m super motivated.
Cycling is like therapy for me – it helps me switch off, stay healthy, and just keep the wheels turning, both literally and mentally. There’s something magical about those early morning solo rides or weekend group climbs that resets everything.
You’ve got to come for a ride with me sometime — no pressure, I promise I’ll let you draft behind me!
Speak soon,
Edgar
Peter: Visit Plans in Sant Fruitós
Hi Peter,
I was over the moon when I found out you’re coming to visit! It’s been ages since we last saw each other, so I can’t wait to catch up and show you around. As you will know, there’s so much to see and do around Sant Fruitós de Bages. I promise you won’t get bored!
First of all, we definitely need to spend a day exploring Montserrat (called the magic mountain by the locals). The views from the top are absolutely breathtaking, and the monastery is such a peaceful place—perfect to recharge your batteries.
As for Barcelona, I was thinking we could hit the road early one morning and do a full day:
- Sagrada Família
- Park Güell
- Maybe even a walk down Las Ramblas
- For sure visit La Boqueria market — a place where you can find a lot of food. Trust me, the food is to die for.
If the weather is nice (which it usually is!), how about a beach day on the Costa Brava? I know a few hidden gems with crystal-clear water and barely any tourists. We could go kayaking or just chill by the sea and then eat paella and drink some sangria.
And last but not least, we could even do a short trip to Andorra. It’s not that far, and it’s great for a bit of nature, some tax-free shopping, and cool mountain air. We can go with my car if you’re up for a road trip.
Anyway, let me know what you’d like to do most so I can start planning. To take into consideration: also bring comfy shoes and maybe a light jacket – evenings can get a bit chilly.
Can’t wait to see you soon!
Big hug,
Edgar
