Perspectives on Corruption, London Travel, and Education

Addressing Corruption in Public Institutions

Subject: Corruption in Public Institutions. Dear Ms. Carlos,

I am writing in order to complain about the problem of corruption in public institutions. I believe that corruption is a serious issue because it creates unfair situations and damages people’s trust in authorities.

Corruption occurs when people in positions of power use their authority for personal benefit instead of serving the public interest. As a result, resources are often distributed unfairly, and honest citizens may not receive the opportunities or services they deserve.

Studies have shown that corruption can slow economic growth, increase inequality, and weaken democratic systems. In my opinion, governments and institutions have a responsibility to promote transparency and ensure that all officials act honestly and ethically.

It is time to take action on this issue by introducing:

  • Stricter controls
  • Stronger penalties for corrupt behaviour

In addition, citizens should be encouraged to report corruption without fear of consequences. By working together, we can create a fairer and more trustworthy society.

I look forward to your reply.

Yours sincerely,
Maria Garcia

An Unforgettable Experience in Madrid

The most unforgettable experience that I have ever had happened during a school trip to Madrid.

At the beginning, everything was going as planned. My classmates and I were visiting some famous places and taking lots of photos. We were having a great time together.

After lunch, we went to a large shopping centre. While I was looking at some clothes, I realised that I couldn’t see my friends anywhere. I had accidentally got separated from the group.

At first, I felt a little nervous because I didn’t know where they were. I walked around the shopping centre trying to find them, but I had no luck. Then, I remembered that our teacher had told us to meet at the main entrance if we got lost.

When I arrived there, I saw all my friends waiting for me. Everyone started laughing, and I felt very relieved.

In the end, everything was fine, and we continued enjoying the trip. It was an experience that I will never forget because it taught me the importance of staying with the group.

Should Homework Be Banned? Pros and Cons

Many students today spend a lot of time doing homework after school. Because of this, some people believe that homework should be banned. Is homework useful, or is it too stressful for students?

The Benefits of Homework

On the one hand, homework can help students practise what they have learned in class. It also:

  • Teaches responsibility
  • Improves study skills
  • Prepares students for exams
  • Reinforces important knowledge

The Drawbacks of Homework

On the other hand, homework can be very stressful and time-consuming. Students already spend many hours at school, and extra work at home can reduce their free time and affect their rest. Moreover, not all students have the same support at home, which can make homework unfair.

Conclusion

In conclusion, although homework can be useful for learning, I believe it should be reduced rather than completely banned. Students need a balance between studying and having free time.
