Personal Stories: Embarrassing Moments, Travel, and Career Aspirations

An Embarrassing Experience in the Past

Three years ago, I was walking on the street with my sister and my best friends when I saw a banana peel. I did not pay attention because I was listening to a story that my sister was telling me. While I was listening, I stepped on the peel, and I fell to the floor. People were looking at me, and I was on the floor, conscious. They were laughing at me. At that moment, I did not cry. I only put my head down, and when I was home, I could not stop crying because I felt very ashamed.

My Next Holiday

During this summer, I haven’t been on holiday, so I have started to prepare for my next holiday, which will be in December. The first step was to decide on the place, but we were conditioned by the number of free days. So, we planned to travel within Europe, finally to Berlin. We chose this city because a friend of another friend of mine is there, and he could help us find a cheap and nearby hotel. Once we obtained information about a hotel, we sent an email to reserve it. There wasn’t any problem because we did it with enough time in advance. The next thing was to buy the plane tickets, also online. Therefore, the only pending thing is the date. So, I look forward to these days. I hope to enjoy it!

My Daily Routine

I generally get up at nine o’clock, but I regularly get up at a quarter past nine. Then, I have milk and toast for breakfast. After that, I take the bus and go to work. At five o’clock, I go to school and study at night. I go to the playground at seven o’clock. I have dinner in a bar near the school. At a quarter to ten, I take the bus to my house. Then, I eat a sandwich and do my homework. After that, I shower and go to bed at twelve o’clock.

My Trip to Cordoba

I visited Cordoba two years ago. I was there for a week, and I really enjoyed it. Everything was perfect in the city. People are very clean; they care about its streets, and it is difficult to see places full of garbage. I loved the way people decorate their houses with lots of flowers and trees, and also the stores have an excellent presentation; some of them are very creative. There are many clubs where you can see many people who go during the weekend to practice all kinds of sports and spend the day with the family. But the most beautiful thing for me was the mountains. You can appreciate them better if you are at the top of a building, for example, in a hotel. It is a fantastic sight. The people of Cordoba are very famous for their particular accent, and it’s amazing how after spending just a week in the city, you can finish speaking the same way. That was completely fun.

If I Were President

First, our education is very unfair; it is not the same. There are many differences between public and private education. And in some places, we don’t have well-trained teachers, even degrees! There should be no street children. We need more projects that protect children and put children in places where they can study, eat, and learn many good things, and not worry about anything. This law must remove children from their homes where they are injured and exploited. If I were president, I would have a hard job, but we have the money; it’s just badly distributed.

What Job Would I Be Good At?

I’ve often thought about what type of job I want to do after I leave school. I used to want to be a farmer like my father, but last year I changed my mind. Now, I think I want to be an architect. I think I’d be good at the job for many reasons. I’m good at maths and art. I’m also quite technical, and I enjoy solving technical problems. I’ve also decided that I don’t like working outside like my father, especially in the winter. I’d prefer to work inside, in a warm office. I’d also like to earn quite a lot of money, much more than a farmer! In conclusion, I’m really looking forward to becoming an architect. I know the training will take a long time, but I think it will lead to a very interesting career.
