Personal Accident, Immigration & Healthy Living
A Day I Will Never Forget
Two months ago, something happened to me that I will never forget. It was a warm and sunny spring morning, and I was home alone since my parents had gone for a walk and to run some errands.
Accident and Consequences: I was rushing out of my bedroom because the phone was ringing, when all of a sudden, I lost my balance, fell down, and bumped my head against the floor. As a consequence of the accident, I was afraid and short of breath. Luckily, I was able to take my phone out of my pocket, dial 112, and ask for help. After a few minutes, a Red Cross ambulance arrived and took me to a nearby hospital.
Hospital Experience
Once I was hospitalized, a porter got in touch with my parents to tell them what had happened. The porter brought me a blanket as I was shivering. Then, a nurse gave me a blood test and calmed me down, and an X-ray technician took me to the X-ray room, immobilized my broken arm, and X-rayed it. An hour later, a doctor came to see me, examined my broken arm, operated on it, and put it in a cast.
Fortunately, my dad took me home, walking on my own two feet. To be honest, I will never forget that day because the nurse who took care of me has become one of my best friends.
My Opinion on Migration
According to a recent opinion survey carried out by the WHO, the number of immigrants who have entered Spain has been increasing very swiftly over the last decade. If you want to have more information about this hot matter, don’t miss the chance to read this article. Trust me; it won’t disappoint you!
Why Do People Emigrate?
Most immigrants are forced to run away from their countries because of the following reasons:
- Crime and violence rates are very high; it’s not safe to walk the streets at night.
- They are persecuted for reasons such as race or religion.
- Their lives are threatened by civil war and terrorism.
Conflicting Views on Immigration
On the one hand, racist people believe that:
- Immigrants “invade” our countries and take our jobs.
- Refugees don’t want to be part of our society, and their goal is to impose their way of life.
- Most of them are illegal workers who take unemployed people’s jobs.
On the other hand, a lot of people believe that:
- Most immigrants are very honest, respectful, and hardworking people who give their best to support their families.
- Most of them are not a threat to our security and prosperity.
- Immigrants should benefit from free medical care and public education for their children.
To end this article, I’d like to say that social workers, politicians, and educators should work together and do their best to offer immigrants a better future.
The Importance of Healthy Habits
How often do you eat healthy food? Nowadays, it is a well-known fact that having a long and healthy life depends on a wide variety of important factors, such as our lifestyle choices. This essay will focus on the importance of having a healthy life.
Building Healthy Habits
If people want to have a healthy life, they must:
- Have light dinners; we will sleep and rest well and wake up feeling energized.
- Exercise and play sports; this keeps us fit and strengthens our muscles.
- Be positive about life; this reinforces our immune system.
Avoiding Unhealthy Habits
Unhealthy habits, overeating, and a sedentary life lead to obesity and cause very serious conditions such as heart problems, diabetes, and cancer. People should avoid drinking sugary drinks and eating fatty foods to avoid obesity. Teens shouldn’t do drugs, as they provoke very harmful mental and physical problems such as depression and sleeping disorders.
In conclusion, I’d like to say that, in my opinion, people of all ages should do their best to keep a healthy life. Our physical appearance will be better, and consequently, we will be stronger and fitter.
