Dolphin Experience

Sala and Cham went to see a dolphin experience. There they had a room and a chance to get into the water and swim with them. He saw hundreds of fish of all colors underwater, and they talked to the dolphins.

Cham Joins Pod Life

He wants to help his father. At his father’s workplace, new nanobots have been installed that remain inside the team, checking everything daily. They find and fix problems even before they occur.

Who is Eston?

Eston is Sala’s grandmother’s brother. Eston managed to escape the city and now lives in a house near the sea and has a happy life with his wife and two children and three grandchildren. He sends a letter to Malia informing her that there was still hope but warning her to be careful.

The Pod Life Centre

It is one of the highest buildings in the city. It has a large laboratory, enormous glass walls, a large hologram at the entrance, and some restricted rooms.

The Rebellion

The Rebellion is a group Wena belongs to, which opposes government control. They discovered there is no pollution outside the city, contrary to what they were told. The Rebellion was led by Oban and worked on creating breaks in the force field and blocking the vrist chips.

Sala’s First Virtual Interface

During the virtual interface, Cham told her what he was learning, including skiing. Sala noticed he talked constantly and seemed very happy. However, Cham left the virtual interface quickly. Sala was sad, realizing it wasn’t the real Cham but his avatar, and his character seemed different. Sala felt miserable, wanting to feel him close. Finally, Sala was annoyed when Cham warned her about Wena and the Rebellion.

Sala’s Mom Investigates the Letter

Sala’s mom found cells from six different people in the letter’s fingerprints. The cells were hers, Gran’s, and Sala’s. Additionally, there were cells from two unknown people. Finally, Sala’s mom identified the last person as Eston because the cells belonged to a family member.

First Visit to Cham

The first real contact with Cham involved his family and Sala. Sala was confused, thinking Cham had changed and was different. Sala wanted to be alone with Cham and eventually succeeded. When they were alone, Sala told him about the letter and their findings, advising him that a better life existed outside. However, Cham told her she had to join them in the pods.

Sala’s Plan and the Story’s End

Sala asks her grandmother to teach her how to avoid being influenced and tormented by her own thoughts. Following her grandmother’s advice, she enters the Pod Life system to save Cham, attempting to convince him and defeat the government to restore his original way of thinking.

Character Profile: Sala

Sala is the main character of the book. She’s a teenager who lives in an overcrowded city with her friends, her boyfriend Cham, her mom, her Gran, and her little brother Apat. She loves running and hanging out with her friends in the simulator centre.

Character Profile: Cham

He is one of the main characters, seventeen years old, he has dark hair and shiny dark eyes. He is very outgoing and loves making people laugh. He lives underground, in an apartment with his parents and siblings.

Character Profile: Gran

She is Sala’s grandma. She is described as an old woman who loves telling stories about her youth and experiences before the oil wars, as well as tending the little garden she has on the terrace. Gran lives with her daughter and grandchildren in an overcrowded city.
