Jehovah’s Justice and Mercy: Understanding God’s Actions

Why God’s Justice Should Not Repel Us

Jehovah’s ability to justly end sinful mankind highlights the greatness of his mercy and undeserved kindness in offering salvation. He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but he will not allow wickedness to continue unchecked. His patience allows for repentance, but he will not tolerate actions that bring reproach upon his name.

The Issues Determining Our Future

Jehovah will not forever tolerate those who follow Satan’s lead. They face a day of reckoning at Armageddon, a global situation demonstrating opposition to God. The world, riddled with corruption and disregard for God’s law, must be cleansed to make way for a paradise earth.

Why a Time of the End?

God’s patience has allowed time for a separating work during these last days. The Kingdom message is preached worldwide, allowing people to choose sides. Those who respond favorably and support God’s messengers will be preserved.

Who Will Be Destroyed?

The wicked, including those who practice immorality, dishonesty, and violence, will be destroyed. False religion and the oppressive political system, both under Satan’s control, will also be removed. True Christians will have no part in the destruction but will wait on God to act.

God’s Loyalty in Action

God’s punishment of the wicked displays loyalty to his servants who have been persecuted. He keeps them in his memory and purposes to resurrect them, demonstrating his unwavering loyalty.

Jehovah Teaches Us for Our Good

The righteously inclined may suffer for their sins but will not be destroyed. However, there is no peace for the wicked. God’s acts of salvation are reserved for those who have faith and love him.

God’s View of Pride and Humility

Jehovah detests the proud and arrogant, who will face punishment despite their banding together. Cultivating humility is crucial, regardless of our knowledge, abilities, or privileges.

Serving as Jehovah’s Trusting Fellow Workers

As humans made in God’s image, we have the capacity for wisdom, justice, power, and love. Jehovah expects us to exercise justice by fulfilling our obligations, loving righteousness, and hating wickedness.

God Exhibits Loving-Kindness in Enforcing Justice

Jehovah is a God of love and mercy, but he must maintain law and order. He gives everyone the opportunity to choose their course and provides forgiveness for those who repent. However, wickedness cannot flourish indefinitely and must be eliminated for the sake of peace and order.

Warning, Patience, and Impartiality

God patiently warns and gives ample opportunity for repentance. When he finally takes action, he is impartial, executing only those who deserve it and truly do not desire righteousness.
