Application for a Computer Club
Date: March 13, 2025
To,
The Headmaster,
M.C. Academy, Sylhet
Subject: Request for setting up a Computer Club.
Dear Sir,
I, on behalf of the students of your school, have the honor to state that we are keenly interested in computer studies. Although many students of the Science Group have taken computer as their main subject, they have no scope to practice. Other students also want to become familiar with this revolutionary invention, yet our school has not taken steps to establish a computer club. We are also in urgent need of an internet connection as Bangladesh has entered the digital era.
I, therefore, hope that you would be kind enough to take steps to set up a computer club to widen the horizon of our knowledge.
Yours sincerely,
Munna

To,
The Headmaster,
Kushtia Zilla School, Kushtia
Subject: Application for setting up a Debating Club.
Sir,
I, on behalf of the students of your school, would like to state that we wish to open a debating club. Many students are interested in debating but do not have enough scope to develop their latent talent due to the lack of such a club.
May we, therefore, expect that you would be kind enough to grant our prayer and set up a debating club as early as possible?
Yours obediently,
Arifa Nasreen

The Life of a Day Laborer
A person working on a ‘no work, no pay’ basis is typically a day laborer. They are not salaried, nor are they honorary workers. They perform various tasks, including farming, masonry, rickshaw pulling, railway portering, and temporary hawking. They generally have no fixed job; one day they may be breaking stones, and the next, cutting soil.
In city markets, some minor boys carry baskets to help buyers transport heavy loads to their residences. These individuals are also day laborers living in miserable conditions. In our country, a day laborer is not well-paid. They work from sunrise to sunset, and often late into the night, yet they do not receive the expected remuneration from their employers.
They are sunburnt, drenched by storms, and shiver in the pinching cold to sustain their hard lives. Their joy knows no bounds when they earn extra; they return to their shabby cottages where their diseased wives and hungry children wait. However, when they go without work, they wear a gloomy appearance, visualizing the famished mouths of their family. The rigorous condition of our day laborers ought to be upgraded through the collective effort of both the government and the public.
