Warm Start

  1. Throttle — IDLE
  2. Mixture — FULL RICH

  5. Fuel Pump — ON
  6. Fuel Prime — ON
  7. Prime 1–3 seconds
  8. Throttle — ¼ inch OPEN
  9. Ignition — START
  10. Throttle — 1000 ±250 RPM

Engine Fire During Start

Weather and Communication

CAVOK Definition

  • Visibility: 10 km or more.
  • No cloud below 5,000 ft.
  • No CB or TCU clouds.
  • No significant weather.

Transponder Squawk Codes

A 4-digit transponder code assigned by ATC.

  • 7000 – VFR
  • 7600 – Radio communication failure
  • 7700 – General emergency
  • 7500 – Unlawful interference

Communication Failure Procedure

  1. Stay north of the aerodrome.
  2. Do not cross the runway or its extensions within 4 NM.
  3. Determine the runway in use.
  4. Join the traffic circuit.
  5. Maximum altitude: 1000 ft AGL.
  6. Report the situation by phone as soon as possible.

Flooded Engine Procedure

  1. Mixture — IDLE CUT-OFF
  2. Throttle — FULL OPEN
  3. Fuel Pump — OFF
  4. Ignition — START (crank engine)
  5. When engine starts: Mixture — FULL RICH, Throttle — Reduce to 1000 RPM
  6. Check engine instruments.
