1. Activities for the Construction Sector

Under the visionary national classification of economic activities, the construction sector can be broken down into the following activities:

2. Industry Associations

A) The National Construction Confederation (CNC)

The most important business organization in the construction sector in Spain, bringing together most business organizations in this sector. Founded in 1997, it aims to represent the sector to the government and other national and international, public or private entities. The action of the CNC covers all activities related to construction and was also one of the founders of Labor Smelter construction. Nationally, the CMC is a member of the CEOE (Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations) and CEPYME. At the EU level, it is part of the EBC (European Confederation of Construction) and IFAC (European Federation of Construction Industries).

B) Association of Construction Companies Nationwide (SEOPAN)

Founded in 1957 to defend the general interests of associated companies and maintain relationships with public and private agencies. It further establishes its associated services, documentation, economic studies, legal accessories, technicians, etc., in matters relating to their business. These associations belong to the biggest companies in the construction sector. The member companies are: ACS, COMSA, CORSANCORVIAM, Ferrovial, Building construction and contracts, NECSO, OHL, RHODIUM, etc.

C) Association of Developers and Builders of Spain (APCE)

It is a non-profit business association founded in 1968. Its primary purpose is to defend the interests of developers and builders in relation to public policy and housing land, and their representation in national and Community institutions. PACE is built into the CNC and through this part of the CEOE, within which it represents business interests in matters of housing and urbanism. It is a member of the EU to developers and builders. To become a member of the PACE, companies must join the association of their province, in Granada, is the APCPE, which ranges from small cooperatives to large construction companies and their scope being the province of Granada.

D) Association of Small and Medium Enterprises and Public Works Construction (ASOPYMEC)

Founded in 1967, grouped by SMEs to public works construction and Granada. Among the services offered to member companies, we have:

  • Permanent information of works that come out to public tender in Andalusia, signing of agreements, salary revisions, etc., and in collaboration with the Grenadian confederation of entrepreneurs to participate in courses to business management.
  • Representing the partners in the negotiation and signing of collective agreements.

4.1 National Ranking

4.2 Construction Companies in Andalusia and Granada

Currently, there are 63,711 establishments in Andalusia for activities within the construction sector. The province that is a leader in the number of establishments is Malaga (14669), followed by Sevilla (12262), followed by Granada (8536), then follow: Cádiz, Almería, Córdoba, Jaén, and Huelva. With respect to the province of Granada, it is noted that of the 8536 establishments, 1617 of them focus on Granada city, followed by Motril, Almuñecar, Hazards, Baza, Albolote, Guadix, Maracena, La Zubia, Loja, and Armilla.
