Functions:

When No Security Guard, Organizational or Technical Complexity or Other Circumstances Exist:

The Security Chief will be responsible for the operation of the guards and security systems, as well as the organization and delivery of services.

A Security Chief’s Concerns:

  1. Analysis of risk and planning and programming the necessary action for the implementation and realization of security services.
  2. The organization, management, and supervision of personnel and private security services.
  3. The proposed security systems that are relevant and monitoring their use, operation, and maintenance.
  4. Control of the ongoing training of security personnel under their jurisdiction, and propose to the direction of the company to adopt appropriate measures or initiatives to fulfill that purpose.
  5. Coordination of the various security services under their jurisdiction with its own civil protection actions in emergencies, disasters, or public calamity.
  6. Ensure the collaboration of security services with those of the corresponding units FFCCS.
  7. Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations.
  8. The direction of shooting drills for security personnel to their ranks, if I possessed the necessary skills as shooting instructors.

Private Detectives

Private detectives, at the request of natural or legal persons, are responsible for:

  • Investigation of crimes only at the behest of a party on behalf of the legitimate parties in criminal proceedings.

They may conduct investigations on crimes prosecuted ex officio but must immediately report it to the competent authority by providing all the information and tools obtained.

They are required to maintain strict secrecy of their investigation and cannot provide more information about these people than they are assigned and law enforcement agencies competent to perform their duties. They may obtain the skills necessary for the exercise of their duties, staff members serving at any Administration at the time of application or during the 2 years prior to it.

The police keep a register of private detectives allowed to open an office, which, in order of inscription, includes their name, address, and associated or dependent detectives.

The General Directorate of Police communicates this information to the competent organ of the Autonomous Community. To start as a private detective, partners and the opening of the office must be on record and have the relevant professional identification card.
