The City or the Countryside

Nerea: Hey Silvia, I was thinking… why don’t we go to the city this weekend? There’s always so much to do — we could go shopping, eat in a nice restaurant, visit a museum, or just walk around and explore. We’d never get bored!

Nerea: But in the countryside there’s nothing to do! I love the energy of the city — concerts, exhibitions, street markets… there’s always something happening.

Nerea: I mean, that does sound kind of nice. Lately I’ve been tired too, and maybe disconnecting for a weekend wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Nerea: Alright, you convinced me. Let’s go to the countryside this weekend. But next time, it’s my turn — we’re going to the city, okay?

Big Cities or Small Villages

Nerea: Not really! Big cities are full of life. There’s always something going on — museums, restaurants, shops, events, concerts… I love the energy. You can meet people from all over the world.

Nerea: Yeah, but sometimes they’re too quiet. I like new experiences, and in villages, every day feels the same.

Nerea: (laughs) That’s a good point. Maybe a quiet village wouldn’t be so bad for a few days.

Nerea: Alright then, this year we’ll go to a small village. I guess I do need a little break from all the noise.

Cruise or Resort

Nerea: Silvia, listen — this summer we have to go on a cruise! Imagine it: travelling across the sea, visiting new countries, trying amazing food, watching shows every night… it’s like a moving hotel!

Nerea: But cruises aren’t boring! They have pools, restaurants, parties, gyms, and even cinemas. Plus, every day you wake up somewhere new. It’s like visiting five countries in one trip!

Nerea: Come on, don’t worry! Most people don’t even feel the movement. And you said you wanted to travel more this year — this way, you can do it easily, without packing and unpacking every time.

Nerea: Great! Let’s go on the cruise then. And if you don’t like it, next year we’ll go to your resort, okay?

Nerea: (laughs) Deal!

Seaside Resort or Mountain Camping

Nerea: Camping? Oh, I don’t know… I’d rather stay at a seaside resort — sun, beach, comfortable beds, and room service. That’s my kind of vacation.

Nerea: I like that idea, but the beach is relaxing too — the sea, the sound of the waves, a little volleyball, maybe a cocktail by the pool…

Nerea: Okay, that sounds better. I could do that. Maybe I need to move a bit more instead of just lying on a sunbed all day.

Nerea: Alright, fine! Let’s go to the mountains this year. But next summer — beach time, okay?

The City or the Countryside

Silvia: Hmm, the city again? I don’t think so, Nerea. I’d rather go to the countryside. It’s peaceful, the air is clean, and you can actually relax without traffic, noise, or crowds. I really need a break.

Silvia: Yeah, but that’s exactly what I don’t like. The city is full of stress and rush. Everyone’s always in a hurry. I want calm mornings, walks in nature, and quiet nights under the stars.

Silvia: Exactly! We could take some photos, go hiking, have a picnic, and just enjoy the moment. You’ll feel so much better.

Silvia: (laughs) Deal! You’ll see, after this weekend, you might even forget about the city for a while.

Big Cities or Small Villages

Silvia: Nerea, I don’t understand why you always want to visit big cities. They’re noisy, full of traffic, and everything’s expensive. Don’t you ever get tired of that?

Silvia: That’s true, but in small villages, things are calmer and people are kinder. You can walk without stress, eat natural food, and actually talk to the locals. It feels more real.

Silvia: Maybe, but cities can be overwhelming. In a village, you can relax, enjoy nature, and feel peaceful. Plus, you save money!

Silvia: Exactly! And they often have local festivals with food, music, and dancing. You’ll love the atmosphere.

Silvia: I knew you’d come around! You’ll see — small places can surprise you.

Cruise or Resort

Silvia: I don’t know, Nerea. I think I’d prefer a resort. It’s more stable — no waves, no seasickness, and I can just stay by the pool all day if I want.

Silvia: Hmm, that does sound interesting, but what if I get dizzy? I like being on land — it feels safer and more relaxing.

Silvia: That’s true… and the views must be beautiful from the ship. Maybe I could try it just once.

Silvia: (smiles) Okay, deal. But if I get seasick, you owe me a big ice cream!

Seaside Resort or Mountain Camping

Silvia: You know, Nerea, this year I really want to go camping in the mountains. Just imagine — fresh air, hiking during the day, and sitting around a campfire at night. It sounds amazing.

Silvia: But in the mountains, you can truly disconnect. No traffic, no noise, no crowds. Just peace, nature, and the sound of birds.

Silvia: (laughs) Sure, but camping is cheaper, more natural, and better for the environment. And we could stay in a nice wooden cabin — no tents, I promise!

Silvia: Great! We’ll hike, take photos, and have a barbecue at night. It’ll be fun.

Silvia: (smiling) Okay, deal. One year the mountains, the next year the sea — perfect balance!
